Rainbow Coast Seed Savers Network - Community Garden Plot Update

The back plot at the Community Garden is coming on after winter. The sugar cane continues to amaze those that assumed it would not survive in our southern conditions. It has filled out nicely and could do with some thinning out to block out the remainder of the back fence and protect the garden from the sprays used in the neighbouring block.

The seed plot to the front of the Perennial Food Forest has now been relinquished in order to allow waiting gardeners a plot to garden in. Our focus is now turning to the Seed Circle Project through which we rely on individuals to tend a seed variety of their choice through the growth cycle to increase the seed supply. For more information on this project you can click here.

With October the 4th being the next Produce Swap and workshop day we plan to have a Busy Bee to tidy up the back Perennial Garden and to tend to the plants and propagate cuttings. More on this later - and it may be a weekday afternoon.
